Founder Robert M. Walmsley, President & CEO
Prior to founding Tailwind, Bob spent over 20 years as a high-growth sales leader, most recently as Chief Operating Officer at Cape Clear Software where he had global responsibility for marketing, sales, customer support and administration. Bob was both Vice President of International Sales and Vice President of Americas Sales at IONA Technologies where he grew revenue from $35M to $103M in three years. Preceding IONA, he spent eight years at Object Design in a series of successful sales leadership positions. During Bob’s tenure, Object Design was recognized by Inc.
500 as the fastest growing company in America as well as being a successful venture-backed IPO.
Bob has a B.S. in Computer Science from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and has served in key technical positions at several innovative companies including Mentor Graphics and Thinking Machines.
